Sod the money! Give me the book...

First cup of coffee of the day, and I gaze at my new array of possessions. There are quite a few new additions to my little studio, but one of them really sticks out, not in size, but in sheer power to incite childlike excitement. Indeed, for I now own a copy of Pratchett\'s latest masterpiece, and even though I have not read it, I already know it is going to be another wonderful escape from reality.

The book also has an interesting story to tell, before I even look at the first page. Dad ordered it for my 20th birthday, with the hope of offering it to me on the day, but it turned out to be a little more complicated that anticipated.

He sent out an order using amazon.fr, who, unexceptionally, contacted a British company to acquire the book. However, this company was out of stock, and they took it upon themselves to contact an American company to get the American version (colour = color, etc...). The American counterpart, duly acquiesced, and to save on shipping fees, sent the book to Sweden, who then sent it to my parents tiny country house in Brittany.

Anticipation is great, because for a book to have such a story outside its pages, the one inside must be biblical!
